the universe will softly tell you that something isn’t a good fit for you. people, places, ideologies, careers, social circles. It will gradually turn up the volume until you hear it. eventually, if you still continue to refuse to listen it will violently remove you.
Police DO NOT prevent crime; they respond to it. Crime is prevented by higher wages, guaranteed health care, food security, high-quality child care, housing, good schools, and addiction treatment.
You will never meet a successful person who has time for resentment and receipt-keeping. Drama happens with people who lack purpose and who have too much free time. Work on more ambitious goals, raise your kids properly, work on yourself with more self-respect; peace of mind is the reward for being focused on your own life and on the things that matter.
A mentor once told me this: Reduce the amplitude of the wave. Never get too high on the wins. Never get too low on the losses. Emotional stability is the real cheat code for adapting to the inevitable uncertainty of life.

I don’t want to "download the app" to pay for parking. I don’t want to "create an account" to see a menu. I don’t want to "provide feedback" on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash.
Once you cut people out of your life, you need to become very comfortable with them talking bad and making things up about you. Because they will fill your silence and your absence with stories that make them feel better about losing access to you. People rarely take accountability when it’s easier to paint you as the villain.
Confidence doesn't come from believing in yourself. It comes from having done the uncomfortable thing enough times that your nervous system stops flagging it as an emergency. Because nothing is actually hard, it's just unfamiliar.
As an adult with no kids, it's my solemn duty to embrace the hobbies and adventures my peers no longer have time for, because they've sacrificed their freedom to keep the human race alive. I must travel, nap, pursue whimsical interests, and have fun in their honor.
