A lot of complaining about the Draft Lottery structure 24 hours later, specifically around bad teams not being able to keep up unless they get a Top 3 pick. That argument is null and void after this Pistons kickass '24-'25 campaign. Historic futility a season ago, complete overhaul of the coaching staff/front office, and when they had the worst record in the league they too fell all the way down to 5th in the draft. That Ausar Thompson guy they got 'stuck with' ended up working out pretty damn well, I'd say. Figure it out.
Chris Petersen's final recruiting class at Washington in 2019 didn't have a 5-star, but in hindsight...
WR Puka Nacua (NFL rookie stud)
CB Trent McDuffie (1st rounder, won SB)
Three projected top-40 picks in 2024: Laiatu Latu, Bralen Trice, Troy Fautanu.
❌ Huskies start 5-0, the Ducks still favored on the road
❌ Huskies beat UO, USC, Utah and Oregon St still favored to beat them
❌ Huskies go 12-0 and already beat UO, but Ducks were double digit favorites to win PAC 12 championship
❌ Huskies go 13-0, have best quality wins of any team in FBS, beat Texas a year ago, and the Longhorns were still favorites
There are no better underdogs than these Dawgs.
Ohio State beats Penn State
The nation: “OMG, Ohio State is so amazing, rank them #1. Incredible. Marvin Harrison Jr.”
Michigan beats Penn State. At home. By more points.
The nation: “That’s not even impressive. Hey, did you see Sherrone Moore cry?!“
At his press conference today, Jim Harbaugh:
1. Recanted his long held opinion that quarterbacks shouldn't eat chicken because a chicken is a "nervous bird." Says he now owns some chickens and they are "low maintenance and high production."
2. Cited watching lots of "Judge Judy" in response to his upcoming legal hearing.
3. Said his raspy voice wasn't a sign of sickness because "I'm the iron wall that viruses bash against and shatter." Promised to do "more pushups and eat an apple" just in case.
So ... business as usual.
