As a Canadian citizen getting married this summer, I am struggling to understand how close family members—including doctors, professors, property owners, and university students—can be refused visitor visas despite extensive evidence of employment, assets, family ties, and intent to return home.

At what point does the evidence become enough? Families are left questioning whether applications are being assessed on the documentation provided or on assumptions tied to where applicants come from.

Can IRCC provide clarity?
