Once upon a classroom, I thought I gave students a voice. But it's not mine to give. I cannot give what they already own.

Student voice is already there. It's not something we give. It's something we honor. And we do when we listen.
Goal for 2021: explicitly introduce metacognition. By focusing on learning processes & increasing self awareness, will this increase levels of engagement? Hoping that Ss will see tasks/internals as having more purpose rather than just a grade & credits.

As teachers are working to meet the needs of their students, who is ensuring that teachers have what they need to remain whole? Teachers' emotional struggles have a DIRECT INFLUENCE on their interactions with students. We must care for teachers, which will in turn help STUDENTS!
