Or maybe the better question is, what is our current context, and which one is more critical for us?

Confidence is not our ability to “not fail”, but our ability to navigate in spite of it.

Charisma is more than what confidence is; it’s a type of confidence that attracts people.

There’s also confidence that repels people; perhaps a false sense of it, and that’s narcissism.

Here’s one way to see this: If someone says that you’re lucky, at least you exposed yourself to the chances of a coincidence.

If we want more luck to work in favor of our hard work, we just need more opportunities to expose ourselves to coincidences.

At least, this is my definition of these 2 words.

The word we choose to use for our narrative will determine the direction we will unconsciously lead ourselves to.

Be clear which words we choose to bring along with us on our journey.

If we can be manipulated, and choose not to do anything about, we deserved to be manipulated.

And it’s not all bad actually; we just gotta be intentional about which aspect of our lives we are willing to lose a little control over.

We need both perspective in different areas of our lives. But;

Are we seeing life in a perspective where we have to reduce our chances of loss, or we are able to see the opportunities of gain?

An airplane needs an airport to land, living creatures need a home to go back to.

We all need a healthy dose of curiosity and exploration, as well as a foundational base we know we can fall back to.

One cannot do without the other in this ever-evolving world.

Confidence and arrogance can be blurred by someone who is threatened by the energy.

But the subtle difference between the 2 changes the trajectory really significantly.

Assumption + Curiosity = Credibility

Maturity is our ability to move from “what’s in it for me”, to “what’s best for us” when it matters.

Knowing our identity is the first mountain, the second mountain is to know our role in the wider community and environment.

There’s a difference between an amateur, a competitor, and a master;

An amateur can focus on having fun, without any need to be competent; a competitor needs to sacrifice fun to be competent; and a master has fun with his competence.

Starting from scratch, or building on experience?

The difference is subtle, but very crucial, depending on the perspective we choose to take.

One makes us more adverse to new experiences and choose familiarity, another informs us what new experience will expand our familiarity.

Delayed Gratification;

The benefits of the areas we can delay our gratification for are all the more sweeter and worthwhile, in a world of instant gratification.

And one of the most valuable area, is through the utmost commitment of a relationship.

Identity is a funny thing; it can be the factor that gives our lives meaning, but it can also be the biggest prison we put ourselves into.

What’s your identity this season?

Metacognition is our superpower as human beings; but suppressing or detaching from our “animalistic” being too much, and we lose our sense of purpose and motivation.

Ownership and intention.

We have a higher chance of getting what we want when we bring ourselves towards it than wait for it.

Perhaps this new year, we can aim to take charge of one specific aspect of our life for a start; from the costs to the benefits.

If the marker does not know its own function, it will live its life forever thinking that the scribbles on the paper are pre-planned, or blaming it for dictating the color reflected on it.

Truth is, the marker has more influence over these 2 areas than the paper does.

Credibility.

There’s just something assuring being around credible people; perhaps because they are able to show that they can do it, assure us they can do it, and also show that they will always be there.

Be credible; instead of being a fabricator or invisible.

Responsibility; something that sets an adult and child apart, in my opinion.

How much responsibility we are willing to assume is the amount of power we will have over our lives.

It’s not about the type of job you do, it’s about why and how you do your job.
