Pretty poor of @stripe, their service has been down for at least 40 minutes now and no update to their status page and absolute radio silence on socials. Not a good look.
Upwork found that 88% of the highest AI productivity gainers also report burnout. They're twice as likely to quit as their less productive colleagues.
The human brain is not designed for endless complex thinking or context-switching. We should use AI to work less, not more.
@irabukht To be honest, the ad platforms themselves have been clearly on a mission to automate ad management for a while now, so any startup attempting to do that was on a highway to obsolescence.
That said, the idea of unleashing Claude on a paid ad account with budget is terrifying.
“The magic trick that’s made Perplexity worth 10 figures, in other words, appears to be that it’s both doing what it says it isn’t and not doing what it says it is.”
Ouch.
“It’s almost like Wikipedia and ChatGPT had a kid." That's how Perplexity's CEO described their product.
Now, a WIRED investigation shows that the AI-powered search startup accused of stealing content is scraping—and making things up out of thin air.

@jeremyphoward It’s had this habit lately of regurgitating my original code with zero changes but claiming it’s made changes. Got to the point where I was diffing its output each time just to be sure (because god forbid it would just give me relevant parts only!)
@bindureddy Behind in what way? How do you define what a leading LLM is? How do you quantify the successful adoption of LLM technology (which Google invented, btw) within an organisation?

MYSTERY SOLVED!
Why does ChatGPT use the word "delve" so much? We've seen a 10x increase in the proportion of medical studies using the word "delve" from 2022 to 2024. But why?
@alexhern at The Guardian might've just solved it. Thread below, complete with the trail of clues:
I think A.I. will start really having an impact this year. Last year was mostly about head-spinning innovation, early cash grabs and people trying to figure out the capabilities and tooling around the new generative A.I. tech.
@mreflow I agree and share the exact same sentiment. It’s also going to shine a light on a bunch of things-slice AI startups who can now be copied very easily as well.
I’m genuinely curious about whether or not this will be popular. My prediction right now is that it will ultimately be a flop or remain quite niche, because GPTs are generally quite limited.
I would be delighted to be proven totally wrong though.
The app store of AI is coming.
OpenAI just announced the GPT Store is coming next week, and it's a massive opportunity for early adopters.
Here's a simple 4-step tutorial on how to make a GPT now to profit from this next wave:
