The road to Atal Setu began in this special issue of Marg magazine in 1965, as "a visionary plan for Greater Bombay by Charles Correa, Pravina Mehta and Shirish B. Patel ... with its elaborate maps and compelling statistics, later paved the way for the creation of Navi Mumbai."
This issue of Marg magazine is about a topic that I love : Histories of Indian Perfume (& incense). Very interesting articles & great pictures!

“I am reading the transl. of the Premakhyan, ‘The Chandayan’, pub. by @_margfoundation… Written by Mulla Daud in the 14th cent., it uses Indic characters to tell a tale in the Awadhi dialect, written in Perso-Arabic script…epics like these celebrate India’s diversity.”—@iamrana
Thanks a ton @_margfoundation for this absolutely gorgeous copy of Marg ("Histories of Indian Perfume"). I'm through with @ibn_shireen 's extremely well-written piece titled "Therapeutic Tastes, Salubrious Smells." I quite liked it!Next read: @LanzilloAmanda 's Perfume as Labour?
Caught some reading time post sehri. against the cool & mellow morning light.
Somehow @_margfoundation has managed to infuse the ink with smell of mitti and khus and you can smell it as you flip. It wont last forever but I will remember all sorts of feelings it made me feel. ❤️
The Chandayan with essays by Naman Ahuja, @bookasmethod & translation by Richard Cohen published by Marg is a visual and intellectual treat.
Chandayan by Mulla Daud is one of the most important works in the history of Hindi literature
Just loving it!
