Extremely precise performance and injection accuracy. Contributing to “SLS’s 99.92 percent accuracy” (John Honeycutt, PM of SLS) – The ICPS, built in collaboration with @BoeingSpace, performed two burns to place Orion into a high Earth orbit, lofting the astronauts towards their lunar trajectory. Bullseye!
The Artemis II crew named a lunar crater after Commander Reid Wiseman's late wife, Carroll. What a beautiful and touching moment.
I'm not crying, you're crying 🤧
4 people are in there with hopes, dreams, risk and the unknown.
It makes me breathless, knowing how they're feeling and what they're facing.
So exciting to see what we're capable of when we work together in common purpose, deciding to push back the edges of our collective ignorance.
Have a great voyage, crew of @NASAArtemis!
🚀 Rollout day at @NASAKennedy. The SLS rocket is being moved to the launch pad and we are here with the entire Artemis II crew to witness this huge milestone. Very exciting! @Astro_Jenni
Rideau Canal Skateway: the loooong way! 😎
That’s right! The Rideau Canal Skateway is officially open for its full* length.
Be sure to check out Capital Skates for all your rental needs. Located at Rideau and Fifth rest area.
One of the coolest things the Rose Bowl does is have the broadcast booth select the players of the game. Wanted to give it originally to the ENTIRE IU OL but when told that couldn’t happen I thought Pat really embodied the OL dominance for 60 minutes and should be the player of the game. And then to watch that moment when he found out was one of my favorite moments of the year. 🌹🥹
Happy birthday to Chris Hadfield, born on this day in 1959 in Sarnia!
He flew on two Space Shuttle missions and was the commander of the ISS. He was the first Canadian to perform extravehicular activity in outer space. He spent 165 days in space and is also a best-selling author.
We deploy the Canadarm for a lot of different tasks such as inspection of vehicles before an undock. It’s nice to see a friendly neighborhood spider arm.
@kchoudhu I watched a good video from Eddie Woo many years ago where he talks about subtracting the powers and getting that way! It’s a great video and will hold up for a few years I think.
Grieving the loss of one of my best friends, Jim Lovell. His extraordinary legacy is cemented by many space missions: Gemini VII, Gemini XII, Apollo 8 and Apollo 13.
Our mutual respect had no limits. The Gemini XII mission we flew together paved the way for the Apollo missions.
Heartfelt condolences to Jim’s family.
Farewell Jim. You will be missed, my friend. Godspeed!
Excellent tribute. I too have spent time lately thinking about my role models and how they have impacted my life choices, which also positively diverted. Grateful to my parents as my first heroes; the famous people I look(ed) up to, and this life of learning I’ve been afforded.
It is a rare and special honour to become friends with your childhood hero. My reflections on the passing of the Hon. Marc Garneau. 🇨🇦

@dead_baseball Going off other comments, this does seem to be from a formula they’ve used without rounding, likely some sort of parabolic drag model with some correction from their cameras. I originally thought floating point error, but the decimals are too consistent. Sig figs are important!
