@AmericanGwyn@esjesjesj This isn’t the own you think it is. That tweet is from last Monday, and these accusations were made public today, a week later — meaning this is an example of changing your outlook based on new evidence presented
@codybauer1024@HunterBiden@realDonaldTrump And Trump pardoned his son-in-law's father who was convicted of tax evasion and witness tampering! Also considered preemptive pardons for his kids.
@20TwentyRICH@bonchieredstate Yes, it’s totally intentional disrespect, nothing to do with the fact that Easter isn’t a fixed date but Trans Visibility Day has been since 2009 lol
@zawinkss@TwithansenL@staywith_ash@PittCrave Saying “it’s just literacy” misses my point entirely. Yes, basic literacy is understanding the words. What I’m describing is interpreting tone, intent, persona, and context in a performed, mediated setting (like an interview).
@azirafag@TwithansenL@zawinkss@staywith_ash Seriously just go read this page. https://t.co/EX70AQUn5S
Also, learn more about literacy in general because I didn’t imply it’s SoMeThInG OnE cAn HaVe. If you were able to interpret context (literacy), you’d get that have is in place of “learn and develop the skill in question
@TwithansenL@zawinkss@staywith_ash@PittCrave Media literacy existed long before the "digital era" and has always involved analyzing how media messages are constructed and interpreted. You're describing one application of media literacy, not the entire field.
@azirafag@TwithansenL@zawinkss@staywith_ash I literally cited NAMLE’s definition. Media literacy IS a defined field, and their definition includes analyzing and evaluating media messages. Interpreting tone, context, intent in an interview isnt somehow excluded from that just because it also relies on general literacy skill
@TwithansenL@zawinkss@staywith_ash@PittCrave Dude. Did you miss the part about analyzing media? That means reading beyond the words themselves and inferring different tones based on context.
Again, what is media literacy if this isn’t it?
@zawinkss@staywith_ash@PittCrave What is media literacy then? Because I don’t see how this example isn’t about having ability to access, analyze, evaluate, create, and act using all forms of communication. That’s the definition used by The National Association for Media Literacy Education, at least.
@mohqbbot Got it. Is that including the part where the reporter asked how he handles the fandom and he answers “by being a real doctor” and the reporter says something about him waving people on the sidewalk? Were you unsure about whether they were joking?
