@miriamcbthinks Omg this again? You can de-personalize my message to shield your ego & purposely misinterprete me as speaking generally about what "women can say", but nope, that's not the case. I think *you* try to win these things by asserting yourself as the expert.

@miriamcbthinks Get out in the world, talk to real people. Folks who say things like hegemony during a debate often do so to make themselves feel smart or to look smart to onlookers. W/collaborators? Go ahead. But here? Large words are being used in an effort to present the speaker as competent.
Asked what her closing message is to CBOE members still on the fence, Davis Gates said: “They have a runaway CEO. They do. They have a CEO that did not demonstrate the capacity to be in the room with other adults to settle a contract.”
It's sad that this is where we are at, but this is why we need to put equity & protections in our contract, even when they are state law or common decency.
(Also, sometimes state law isn't enough to get CPS to handle their SPED responsibilities, but that's another story 🤦🤦🤦)
It was only a matter of time before the hate groups made this move. The unclever sounding Liberty Justice Center (the legal arm of the Illinois Policy Institute) is leading the lawsuit

@JesseRuizEsq@SSKedreporter@ChiPubSchools@PedroCPSCEO W/having served on the board, do you not feel it makes you responsible for ensuring your public communications are free of these kind of leading questions? If I were you I would worry that it would lead people to think I'm doing more than stirring the pot w/ my fantasy narrative.
Packed house at the Skykark on Friday night at our CORE caucus election kickoff event! Thank you to everyone who came out to hear from President Stacy Davis Gates, VP Jackson Potter, Financial Secretary Dr Diane Castro, and Recording Secretary Vicki Kurzydlo. #VoteCORE
This is the team. Don't let *anyone* convince you that you are voting for the lesser of two evils. Vicki and Diane bring so much potential to this Leadership Slate. You are NOT picking between bad and worse, you're picking between the Do'er's vs. complainers. The choice is clear.
Our CORE slate for CTU leadership!
President Stacy Davis Gates, VP Jackson Potter, Financial Secretary Dr Diane Castro, and Recording Secretary Vicki Kurzydlo.
CTU elections on May 15th.
@miriamcbthinks I'll also gladly police who tries to influence my union. Go meet more than those 11 teachers. In my experience you're basically mean to every teacher outside of that circle. Talking about the CBA? Want to "support us"? We can't stop you. But you aren't one of us #GetYourOwnUnion
@miriamcbthinks You're right, I don't know you, but @ this point, I do imagine you dodging the points as you reply. As if the words are flying at you as you swat them away, while looking thru a Rolodex of things to say so it might appear that you aren't accountable. Keep hanging your hat on that
@ufabchicago @CivokNilam@coreteachers@stacydavisgates@jacksonpCTU Can anyone imagine caring this much about the decisions of the DMVs Union? Did you even know it's 73?
But like... to the point you find yourself talkin about the employees who turn me away b/c I dont have the right docs? Its so weird. You don't work w/us. Let your HR handle you.
@WestLoopTom@itsdesserts The "I’m an adult, I know what I’m talk’n ‘bout" folks forget teaching isn’t what they saw as students. What if as aKid I watched people do your job for 12years? Would you think it’s cool for me to loudly tell an audience you shouldn't have agency in your career? It is so obtuse.
This is precisely the problem. Folks like this feign not understanding that teachers are professionals. Made evident by the fact that they have professional duties, and professional learning obligations per the state of Illinois. Professionals.
@WestLoopTom@itsdesserts Is this about me saying people talk about teachers working only 40weeks/yr & also summer is 8wks off? If that’s what we’re talking bout, I’m starting 2 wonder if its actually feigning ignorance. I saw you have the CPScal. 2Months. Look, & then don't split hairs #thinklikeateacher
@WestLoopTom@itsdesserts You're talking about the pros of leaving public education in Chicago. AKA leaving these students behind. You can't just end your debates with "You're bad at this" to try to wrap things up neatly and pat yourself on the back. That's performing a debate, not having one. Grow up.
@declatom@coreteachers No work gets done alone. It would help to know what outside unions REAL are collaborating w/, what are the lengths of those relationships, and what formative experiences have created a foundation for the caucus & other unions?
All are topics @coreteachers could speak proudly on.
@itsdesserts@WestLoopTom His question again is designed under capitalism. "Why don't you teachers throw away these public school city kids and work private or in the suburbs?".
It can't be said enough. These people do not get it. Literally someone has to teach every kid. It's the law. Just wow.
@declatom@miriamcbthinks I see that maybe you misunderstand me when I say you go live w/o vetting your info. I don't mean about me, I mean about everything.
I'm going to let anybody who is looking on make their own determination... I'm definitely not going to continue to point out where you're wrong.
@declatom@miriamcbthinks Being condescending is embarrassing, but it's extra embarrassing when you're wrong.
Just wait 5 minutes, and just see if you get an answer to the question you asked, before you give another condescending answer.
@declatom@miriamcbthinks I was using the experiences I've witnessed, you making assumptions about me, as my basis for how I came to the conclusion that I think you aren't vetting your information before you go live w/it. I've seen you perform activism in attempts for power. People with goals collaborate.
