This third period rules. Lately I haven’t been able to wake up/stay awake for the games, but this one caught my attention. Worth it to wake up at 2 AM to watch it!

Some of the too many men calls are kind of questionable…like we’re talking about a few seconds here where Burns got on the ice before Makar got off and they didn’t interfere on the play. This happens a thousand of times in a game and it’s mostly not called.

This 5-minute “penalty” at the CAR vs OTT game makes me think of the comment on the @JeffMarek show where they talk about how the refs say they don’t want to add video review for normal penalties, but they basically already use this loophole to check anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

@MarkLazerus For us in Europe these are really great to wake up to! Although I went to sleep at 9PM to wake up at 3AM to watch the end of Penguins/Flyers and the start of Stars/Wild. So I’ve been awake for a while 😅

I don’t understand some NHL rules…how can the play be offside, but one be assessed a penalty shot? If the person was offside, the play should have been called dead no? Genuine question.

Cannot believe I stayed awake, thinking this would be a hell of a game, just for the refs to decide its outcome 😔 The NHL is a joke sometimes 🤷🏻‍♀️
