@TheDeshBhakt —even football matches are scheduled then. The high level of political stress and future insecurity in these lively surroundings is the main barrier preventing us from embracing such a workaholic yet fun atmosphere.
@TheDeshBhakt I've roamed half of Europe. Music is rarely heard on weekdays, but Fridays-Saturdays are the noisiest. Residents make a point of not disturbing Ors. during d week out of respect, but enjoy themselves freely on weekends.
The three most vocal Sikhs against Satluj are the grandson of the then CM Beant Singh, the nephew of the then DGP KPS Gill and the former DC Amritsar in the year 1995.
The film Satluj is being hounded by the same darkness in 2026 that was challenged by Khalra saab in 1995.
We flagged the corruption during the UPA years & ran an anti corruption campaign which helped the BJP to come to power. But I can safely assert that the corruption in the Modi govt exceeds the UPA corruption by leaps & bounds. Every govt scheme is riddled with corruption
A film about slain Sikh activist Jaswant Singh Khalra is being screened across India after its removal from a streaming platform.
Khalra exposed killings and secret cremations by Indian security forces during the Punjab insurgency.
@Tractor2twitr_P@diljitdosanjh@HoneyTrehan Even today, I am fighting alone against the powerful nexus who've been alledged by KVP Singh as the biggest scamsters of the state. And will never retreat...
@Tractor2twitr_P@diljitdosanjh@HoneyTrehan Having suffered atrocities on my father in 2020, I been an Aerospace/Software Engg now turned advocate to contest Judicial impotency and unwillingness to deliver timely justice. The contest left me devastated in every aspect. I deeply relate to the movie. (1/2)
WhatsApp and Telegram are flooded with copies of Satluj. Villages across Panjab are organizing public screenings on big screens.
@diljitdosanjh@HoneyTrehan, you’ve achieved what many artists can only dream of in seven lifetimes. You didn’t just make a film. You started a movement.
This is same Harike Pattan bridge where police dumped Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra’s body.
In 90s, thousands of dead bodies were thrown here by police and in fact Rajasthan govt had to reach out to Beant Singh to complain that they are getting too many dead bodies in canal from Panjab side.
@PargatSOfficial@PTI_News@diljitdosanjh@HoneyTrehan Even today, I am fighting alone against the powerful nexus who've been alledged by Sh. KVP Singh as the biggest scamsters of the state. The imcompetence & unwillingness of the authorities remains a stain on society..
@PargatSOfficial@PTI_News@diljitdosanjh@HoneyTrehan Having suffered atrocities on my father in 2020, your support from another district and constituency helped stop the injustice to my family. I deeply relate to the movie. 1/2
Satluj movie (Punjab 95) is based on the true story of Jaswant Singh Khalra ji and portrays a painful chapter in Punjab's history, highlighting the misuse of state power and the injustice suffered by innocent people. Truth should be confronted, not censored. Only by acknowledging history can we strengthen justice and accountability.
While films widely criticized as propaganda are allowed to be screened, a film like Punjab 95, based on documented events and historical facts, faces restrictions. Such an approach raises serious questions about the space for truth and historical accountability.
From my journey in sports, public service and politics, I have learned one thing about #democracy: society is a team. If we expect better from society, society also expects better from us.
