You should think very highly of yourself. Not out of ego, but because of growth. You know what it took for you to become you: The battles nobody saw. The sacrifices nobody applauded. Growth deserves recognition. Respect your resilience. Honor your journey. Know your value.
I used to go to the gym with this one girl and after every minute she'd tell me that some guy was staring at her, some uncle asked for her insta, some random guy tried to touch her elbow or sum??? but all that men did was grunt, flex and lowkey moan at the gym
halfway through reading mother mary comes to me by arundhati roy, and I've a few thoughts to share:
- why are south asian mothers like that?
- the writer definitely had a troubled childhood but boy I'm so envious of her freedom to move places
- also she found such nice partners and friends (good for her)
- while reading I kept thinking about this particular phrase, 'a moving woman meets her luck'
