He failed in college. His parents wanted him to open a computer repair shop.

Today, he builds tech that powers millions of transactions.

Sanju Saini (@_mr_tdb) grew up in Alwar, Rajasthan.

He was pursuing a BSc degree when everything seemed to fall apart.

He failed in some subjects and felt completely lost.

His parents suggested a diploma in Computer Science, hoping he could at least run a small computer repair shop.

But once he got into college, something unexpected happened.

Sanju started exploring tech on his own.

YouTube tutorials. Documentation. Small projects in Python and PHP.

One experiment led to another, and slowly, coding turned from a survival plan into a passion. 💚

But it wasn’t easy.

Without a traditional CS background, he had to figure out everything one step at a time. He wasn’t one to give up.

He joined a bootcamp to sharpen his system design.

And with persistence, he started building real-world projects - like a CRM system from scratch.

His big break came at @Razorpay, where he contributed to the UPI ecosystem that powers millions of transactions in India.

Today, Sanju works at @CapriGlobalCap as a Member of Technical Staff 2.

And outside his day job, he mentors engineering students to help them land roles at top companies.

When I asked him about the hardest part, he said: “Failing my BSc and dealing with financial pressure. The fear of starting over was crushing. But those failures taught me resilience and that’s been my biggest asset.”

There’s one thing he wants to tell every beginner:

“Don’t wait for the perfect moment, just start and focus on improving 1% every day.”

From almost giving up on a degree to shaping fintech products used by millions, Sanju’s story is a reminder that when you fail in the “traditional sense”, something else is awaiting you.

Sometimes, you just need a new beginning.
