Rue's tragedy lies precisely in this: she was someone full of the capacity to love, but constantly at war with herself. Her story speaks to how suffering, grief, and dependence can hinder the expression of love, without ever erasing a person's humanity. Not because she is a perfect example, but because she is imperfect in a very real way: trying to find meaning, affection, and peace while battling her own demons.
She wasn't just a young drug addict. She was intelligent, observant, sensitive, and extremely vulnerable. After her father's death, she lived with a void that she tried to fill in various ways, especially through drugs. Addiction didn't define who she was, but it influenced almost all of her choices. Behind her flaws, Rue demonstrated love in many ways: She deeply loved her family, especially her mother and sister. She loved Jules intensely and sincerely. She loved the people who tried to help her, even when she pushed them away. She desperately wanted to believe she deserved a better life.
🚨😔 This is probably a photo from the day they filmed the fateful scene of Rue dying... Zendaya is upset, apparently. That's what's circulating, and I feel sad.

I would have accepted Rues death better if she gotten better closure with the people she loved, her final moments with Lexi and Jules were terrible and she didn't even get to see her mom one last time
