Hearing of Ryan’s passing made me yearn to reconnect with the spirit of those days, and simultaneously say a musical prayer for him. Every time a soul passes on, the world loses some light. In the case of Ryan, it was a brilliant light.

Very saddened to hear of the untimely passing of @ryanpapaporter. Ryan was an amazing musician, and a gracious, kind, genuine person.

I remember as a high school student playing in the LA Multi-School Jazz Band, the first time Ryan came back to sit in with us. I was not only blown away by his playing, both the passion and vocabulary he had, but by his demeanor. He was a role model then, and continued to be so.
