Today, we proudly celebrate Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) — the backbone of economies, the heart of communities, and the spark of innovation across the globe.
In 2016, I proposed to the United Nations the idea of a global day to recognize and uplift MSMEs. Now, almost a decade later, MSMEs Day stands as a worldwide tribute to the resilience, creativity, and impact of micro and small businesses everywhere.
From family-run shops to tech startups, MSMEs drive employment, foster economic growth, and fuel local and global development. They deserve not only recognition but real investment, support, and policy that helps them thrive, especially in these times of Permanent White Water and constant disruption.
💡 Let us honor the spirit of MSMEs by supporting them, learning from them, and co-creating solutions that ensure their continued success.

@WilliamsRuto As a proponent and scholar of informal sector aka Jua Kali, I'm happy you have implemented the Sessional paper no 2 of 1992 recommendation on the creation of a ministry for MSMEs. That will go long way to empower this sector. Kudos the 5th president.
