Today, we proudly celebrate Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) โ the backbone of economies, the heart of communities, and the spark of innovation across the globe.
In 2016, I proposed to the United Nations the idea of a global day to recognize and uplift MSMEs. Now, almost a decade later, MSMEs Day stands as a worldwide tribute to the resilience, creativity, and impact of micro and small businesses everywhere.
From family-run shops to tech startups, MSMEs drive employment, foster economic growth, and fuel local and global development. They deserve not only recognition but real investment, support, and policy that helps them thrive, especially in these times of Permanent White Water and constant disruption.
๐ก Let us honor the spirit of MSMEs by supporting them, learning from them, and co-creating solutions that ensure their continued success.
@WilliamsRuto Mr President, the idea of aggregation center in each county is one of the best idea as well as having industrial packs. If the centres are equipped with refrigerators and machines, value chain addition and processing can be enhanced the products: thereby creating employment.
@5peopleke The lady is spot on. The same way they prescribed the saps in late 80s and 90s that have made us to sink down. They take advantage of African leaders who lack Economics knowledge.
@bonifacemwangi@kiplagat_sila@NPSOfficial_KE This policeman should be prosecuted for misusing the weapon. Was he in anyway insecure? This picture should be shared with IPOA. There is need to train the Kenya Policemen on handling of demonstrations. This is reckless.
@WilliamsRuto As a proponent and scholar of informal sector aka Jua Kali, I'm happy you have implemented the Sessional paper no 2 of 1992 recommendation on the creation of a ministry for MSMEs. That will go long way to empower this sector. Kudos the 5th president.
