Okay, I'll explain it as clearly as I can.
It's not that I'm calling your template a failure. My point is that you're telling other creators what they should do before you've even tested your own approach.
My second point is that even if everything you include in your template genuinely works and helps the customer, none of that matters if nobody sees your template in the first place. If nobody discovers it, nobody cares what's inside it because nobody gets to experience any of those extras.
That's why I think discoverability is the bigger problem. I doubt the highest earning creators include even half of what you're planning to bundle, yet they'll still earn more because people actually see their templates.
Your template "Span" isn't even live on the marketplace yet, so none of this is validated. You're giving everyone advice based on a template that hasn't even proven itself.
1. CMS. Wow, so unique. Is everything actually customizable through a single CMS collection, or are you just pushing customers onto a more expensive framer plan for no reason?
2 and 3. These are basically the same point. A 30 day launch plan backed by research. I'd genuinely like to see it, because from the way you describe it, it sounds like something anyone could generate with chatgpt in five minutes.
4. A full library of templates... that you don't even have yet.
5. A library of prompts and resources. Tell me, do you really think an ai saas founder doesn't know how to use chatgpt?
6. A tutorial. Very unique. But wait, I thought your CMS was supposed to make everything easy for people who don't know framer. Why would they need a tutorial then?
But the funniest part is that you spent months researching ai saas founders and still completely missed the actual problem with the marketplace.
Templates don't get visibility. If nobody sees your template, they don't care if it comes with a launch plan, research, prompts, or 100 bonus resources. None of that matters if your template never gets in front of customers.
It's like going to a dentist because your tooth hurts, and instead of fixing it, they try to sell you a toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss. Those things are useful, but they don't solve the actual problem.
And about the 2.5k follows. You say you had "no meaningful goals," then immediately admit you did it to rank higher in the creator list. That literally was the goal. Do I really have to explain your own sentence to you?
@AntonDrukarov Hard to choose without seeing the rest of the website, but I think the list one is the safest choice. It'll look good whether there are 3 projects or 15.
hey @aandreug , I remember we weren't allowed to submit templates using Spline at one point. Is that still the case, or can we now publish templates using Spline, Rive, Unicorn, etc.? I'm pretty sure there are already some templates using Rive, which I'm all for it.
> 7:00 woke up
> 7:10 saw the Framer 3.0
> 7:35 asked ai to build the best portfolio website template
> 7:45 ran out of monthly credits
> 8:00 template live on marketplace
What used to take months of building and reviews now takes 30 min. Best update ever.
Obviously the template is complete shit, so there isn't even an ai checking the basic template requirements before listing it on the marketplace. I really don't get it.
@AntonDrukarov right, but you still have to choose it so it looks nice and somewhat organic. Sometimes you can spend 3 hours trying to make one and its sh*t, other times you just find a font that works perfectly. Either way, if it looks good, it doesnโt matter.
