Despite relentless attacks from the state—especially the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and the military—our campaign stood firm on the side of the people. The vilification, red-tagging, harassment, fake news, and disinformation campaigns targeted against us only exposed the desperation of those in power to silence the voice of dissent and suppress the will of the marginalized.

Ilocos Human Rights Alliance (IHRA) reported that Simeon "Ka Filiw" Naogsan, spokesperson for the Cordillera People's Democratic Front, was arrested at around 5 a.m. today, October 21, in Ilocos Norte. According to IHRA, Naogsan was in the province to seek medical attention.
