Women’s cricket is already dominated by left-arm orthodox spin.
Add natural drift and England’s cooler conditions, and some spinners could go from 50–60% effectiveness to 80–90%.
This might be the World Cup where spin becomes the biggest weapon. 🌀🏆 #T20WorldCup2026

Today while watching Scotland W vs Ireland W, I was really impressed by Kirstie Gordon.
The left-arm angle, drift through the air and subtle turn got me thinking…
How big a factor will drift be at the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026?
Let’s dive in. 🧵👇 @CricCrazyNIKS

Then I ranked the venues.
Headingley, Rose Bowl and Old Trafford could be nightmares for batters, while some London venues may offer relatively friendlier conditions.
Ground conditions could shape this World Cup more than people think.

13 overs . 112 for 4.
Still Sutherland, Carey ,Molineux and King to come.
7 overs 80 more they will target 190-200 looks achievable with this lineup.
Amazing depth. #AUSvsSA#T20WorldCup
The game keeps growing bigger every year, yet the viewing experience somehow keeps going downhill.
Credit where it’s due though — Sky and Fox have consistently maintained high standards and shown how quality broadcasting and commentary can genuinely elevate the sport.

I’m all for giving new commentators a chance during a World Cup, but not at the cost of the viewing experience. The World Cup is the biggest stage in cricket, and the commentary should enhance the game, not make it harder to enjoy.

To be very frank, they were absolutely pathetic. I understand that bringing money into the game is important, but as an audience, we’ve almost become used to seeing the viewing experience take a back seat.

Time for Harry Brook to step in and change England’s fortune. What i have saw of him is a very calm and intelligent personality to lead the team. He was really impressive leading the T20 team. I am sure he will do great in Test too. #HarryBrook#England
NEW: Ben Stokes' future as England Test captain is in doubt after it was announced that he and Gus Atkinson are being investigated by the ECB for an undisclosed "incident" at a nightclub in the early hours of Monday morning.
It is understood neither Stokes nor Atkinson were hurt in the incident, which also involved players from Saracens rugby club as part of their end-of-season celebrations.
ESPNcricinfo understands the incident, described by the ECB as "a breach of team protocols", is serious enough for Stokes to be considering his position as captain.
