A very annoying thing that happens now is that people who know nothing about a subject will "consult" AI, get the wrong information, and then try to "correct" you on a subject you actually know something about. They treat AI like the Oracle of Delphi

This was common knowledge ten years ago and sometimes I forget that common knowledge needs to be shared: containers do not provide security isolation. If you run arbitrary code in one, assume it can access the entire host.

i hate that critical thinking is becoming associated with being pretentious and elitist. criticism is deemed as unnecessary hate because people refuse to look at the political and social implications of the media they consume, whether it be a book or a film.

Comments discouraging. All around the theme of “software doesn’t have to work well if it makes money”. Makes me feel like I’m on the losing side of a battle I didn’t even know was happening. Just sort of thought everyone wanted to make good software.

an under addressed consequence of the streaming era is the lack of automatic exposure to content outside ur curated choices. like the radio was the easiest way to get put on to new music I had not heard. now I have to actively choose to listen to new music or find it on tiktok,,,
