🚨🇬🇭Sulley Muntari’s journey to the top did not begin in Europe, it began at Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School.
The former Black Stars midfielder once shared how veteran radio broadcaster Joe Laka played a key role in his early life after spotting him during his school days at OKESS.
Muntari said Joe Laka, who was then an English tutor, became his first manager and supported him in ways he could never forget, from getting him football boots to buying him sachet water, something he says felt like luxury at the time.
A small gesture then helped shape a big football career. ✨🇬🇭
🚨 Good Friday blessings to you and your loved ones! ✝️
As a Catholic pharmacist, I often reflect on how the "medicines" we dispense in the pharmacy can ease physical pain, but nothing compares to the ultimate healing that came to us on this solemn day.
📌 Why is it called "Good" Friday?
At first glance, it seems paradoxical; a day marked by betrayal, scourging, mockery, and the brutal crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. How can such immense suffering be called "good"?
In the Catholic tradition, we call it GOOD FRIDAY because it was the day of our redemption. Through His Passion and death on the Cross, Jesus offered Himself as the perfect, once-for-all sacrifice for the sins of humanity. What appeared to be defeat was actually the greatest victory of divine love: Christ conquered sin and death, opening the gates of Heaven for us. As the Baltimore Catechism beautifully puts it, "Good Friday is good because on this day Christ showed His great love for man and purchased for him every blessing."
The word "good" here carries an older sense of "holy" or "pious", much like we still say "the Good Book" for the Bible. In other languages, it's called Holy Friday or Great Friday, emphasizing its sacred importance. For us Catholics, it's a day of fasting, abstinence, solemn prayer, and veneration of the Cross, not a day of celebration, but one of profound gratitude and repentance.
Today, as we remember Jesus' words from the Cross; "Father, forgive them", I'm reminded in my own work how true healing often comes through sacrifice and love.
May the grace of this Good Friday bring you peace, forgiveness, and deeper union with Our Lord.
Wishing you a blessed Triduum and a joyful Easter ahead.
Let us pray for one another.

“By His wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
Took my babe to church today and it’s his first time in a Catholic Church. When it was time to kneel, he asked, “For how long?” I said, “Just a short while.” Fast forward to after the “Our Father” prayer. I told him it’s time to kneel again. The look on his face? Absolutely priceless. 😂 Now the real question: how do I convince him to come with me tomorrow for the Liturgy of the Word & holy Eucharist? Tomorrow’s intercessory prayer is a marathon of “let us kneel,” and “let us raise” – more than seven times each. He might just leave me in church! 😭
