'We confess to having more respect and honour for the raggedest child of the poorest labourer in Ireland today than for any, even the most virtuous, descendant of the long array of murderers, adulterers and madmen who have sat upon the throne of England.'
James Connolly
The Chicago bears accidentally making an inflammatory, sectarian statement about Irish politics is maybe the funniest NFL team post since the Raiders Derek Chauvin post.
I have finished work and will not be logging back in until Jan. 3. The entire GMUCL22 will be in the same room tonight. Gabby is in Virginia. I. Am. OFF. BUCKS.
Omicron, do not screw this up for me.
@morfgo I think I might be giving her too much credit, but it’s fun to listen to her that way! Anyway, keep the anti-swift content coming because I need to be humbled
@morfgo I got nothing on that one haha, I guess for her middle America fanbase that’s the most progressive lyric they know. I think because a lot of her music moves me, even her cringe I find a lil charming. If it didn’t, the cringe would be unbearable
@morfgo This is true, however I’ll defend her in this case because I don’t interpret that “fuck the patriarchy” lyric as earnest, but tongue-in-cheek & making fun of a guy who thinks he’s progressive for letting her drive but actually treats women poorly. You are still allowed to hate it
Olivia Rodrigo wrote lyrics about being insecure about being too young at 17 and Taylor Swift wrote lyrics about being insecure about being too old at 22. So, I’m not sure when women are the right age but it’s officially fewer than 5 years of our lives.
