I’ve been reading about intentionality & thinking about how closely it aligns with occupational therapy in terms of goal-setting & aligned actions.
I also think we need OT to support adapting intentionality depending on circle of control/enviro & health/performance for wellbeing
I’ve also been reading about growth mindset for post grad course & this has been the shift, I think: reframing unexpected events as opportunities, leaning into personal strengths like genuine communication & accessing supportive resources facilitated intentional work to continue
Probably just talking into the nothingness on here but am using it a professional space to share a reflection about how life & practice intertwine in helpful ways at times (even though I admit that I didn’t see it initially!)
Motivation for this reading comes from a personal space of having to adapt a lot this year due to disability. I work well in planned goal alignment. When the challenge increased, I had to think creatively to continue to work intentionally. Different OT skills supported wellbeing

I’ve not been on X recently because the heightened racism during the riots made this space feel divisive & extremist rather than a place for discussion to find mutual understanding/solution. Racism & bullying worse than any exclusion I have ever faced. But seeking to understand:

I was completely blown away by over a hundred staff attending and all showing such passion to improve the lives of our service users, carers and staff ❤️
I was honoured to be able to share my own personal journey, albeit one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my career to date 🥹
