@gingerrtom Wallingford is also 99% white, quintessential British market town. Well-to-do with a Waitrose and everything. I wondered who was putting up flags and painting roundabouts in a place like that. Wronguns.
@AaronBastani They will effortlessly shift from calling it a lie, to blaming a lack of preparedness for the situation we find ourselves in. See: air conditioning discourse
@curtistmann Yeah, I have a decent weather station in my garden around 3m up and it’s consistently a couple of degrees higher than the met. I think it’s an averaging thing perhaps
@CleanNetGroup1@Catos_cat@mtracey The original report used Rotherham, Telford, and Oxford - cherry-picked locations where the incidents happened. I just zoomed in a bit more to some areas in those towns. It’s the same methodology, I don’t see an issue
@CleanNetGroup1@Catos_cat@mtracey Wait, what caveats did you apply to the total Pakistani population in the UK? Pick a few towns where the problem exists is not different to picking a few neighbourhoods where the problem exists
@CleanNetGroup1@Catos_cat@mtracey There is plenty of information available to you on other demographics if you are keen to learn, as well as important context about this report, but it doesn’t strengthen the report and I think that’s not the kind of information you’re interested in.
@Catos_cat@CleanNetGroup1@mtracey Since I’m feeling charitable, I cut your sample size down from 7000 to 3500, focusing on a couple of hotspots. Now you have 680,000 victims. You’re welcome!
@Catos_cat@CleanNetGroup1@mtracey Ok then. Just keep making up bigger and bigger numbers with your “research methods” and wondering why nobody takes any of them seriously
@CleanNetGroup1@Catos_cat@mtracey You can pick a sample population of Pakistanis in the uk with 0 victims and the same methodology produces 0 victims across the population. We know that’s not true either, so what good are these kinds numbers? 250k, 304k, 0, 5.5b… just no use
@CleanNetGroup1@Catos_cat@mtracey It’s the same methodology. Doesn’t take into account the number of offenders or their prolificness in a sample population and extrapolates that over total population. That’s why it’s absurd.
@Catos_cat@CleanNetGroup1@mtracey There is no logic… but it’s the same approach to calculating the number of victims. You can do the same with any crime in any demographic if it makes you feel better
@CleanNetGroup1@mtracey Harold Shipman murdered 250 people. There are around 22m white British males in the uk, that means 5.5 billion victims extrapolated
@ScotsWhiteBear If he is trans, then he’s just following new ECHR guidelines to use the facilities for which you were assigned at birth… literally what the terfs have been arguing for and now that’s not ok? It’s a deeply flawed ruling for this reason
@Crookey1979@MatthewWielicki This was the reading from a small/consumer weather station at the end of my garden in Oxfordshire today. It was actually quite hot
@Catrinisin@hashjenni Magical insight: “millionaires/billionaires get paid a bit less and they pay the people who do the labour that makes them rich a bit more”. Billionaires don’t like that option so they lobby government and control media so that people like you also think it’s an unworkable idea
