“Define yourself radically as one beloved by God. This is the true self. Every other identity is an illusion.” In Christ, we discover that we are radically loved without condition, completely forgiven, made to live forever, and never too far gone.
Guys!! It’s cold very outside! I just stepped outside my house to feel it. And if it’s this cold in Lagos, it’s colder in Ibadan and much even colder in the bushes! These children and their teachers are shivering right now! This is their 27th night! God!😭😭
Good evening everyone. I’m appealing for financial assistance towards my school fees. My final exams begin in 2 days, and payment must be completed before I can sit for them.
My parents who have always handled my fees, are currently facing an unexpected financial crisis, making..
If you opened IG and saw a reel from your Pastor and the reel song was say Asake or Mavo, you'd be shocked abi? No wam
But you make reels using the same set of songs and you're fine.
You expect some level of consecration from your Pastors but you think you're exempted from displaying same level consecration.
If you expect that level of consecration from your Pastors, it also applies to you.
i’m a christian, and i think one of the biggest problems with these conversations is that many people are more passionate about preventing the abortion than they are about supporting the life that comes after birth.
i understand why people disagree with her conclusion but i also think many of the responses are missing her actual point.
her point isn’t really about down syndrome, her point is about responsibility.
a lot of people are speaking from a place of moral conviction while ignoring the environment these children are born into, in many communities, children with down syndrome are mocked, isolated, denied opportunities, and treated as burdens, their parents are often left to navigate everything alone.
what frustrates me is that some of the same people condemning her tweet will never advocate for disability inclusion, never support affected families financially, never push for better healthcare, and never challenge the stigma these children face every day.
christianity is not just about defending principles, it’s also about carrying burdens, if we’re going to speak about what families should do, we should be equally advocating for society to support them.
There’s a book I read by Kenneth E. Hagin titled The Believer's Authority, and he gave a similar illustration.
The central point is that the devil is often able to torment believers because they do not fully understand what they carry in Christ. Many are unaware of the finished work of Christ; that when He died, we died with Him; when He rose, we rose with Him; and now we are seated with Him at the right hand of God, far above principalities and powers.
Hagin noted that much of our suffering stems from ignorance. It is like having money in your pocket while going hungry, or carrying an umbrella in your bag while walking in the rain.
His message was a call for believers to recognize the authority they have in Christ and exercise it. Make the devil no dey use our ignorance shine. ☺️
It’s how politics and social issues expose our hypocrisy for me. This is because Christianity is tested with real life issues. Issues that happen when our “praise the Lord, hallelujah” is over. Issues of justice, fairness, equity and good conscience.
We then wonder why our prayers for Nigeria are not working. It’s simple.
Our prayers are futile because we pray, yet engage in unrighteousness. We are defensive and want to protect an image instead of directly speaking the truth to power.
We want to maintain our access to the evil people ruining this nation, so we cannot directly call them out and take a stand against the evil in Nigeria. It’s disappointingly shameful.
