Today, I signed a package of bills to make housing in Baltimore more abundant and affordable.
These bills will help folks buy a home and grow wealth, counter decades of disinvestment, and make sure both long-time and new residents feel the benefits of Baltimore's Renaissance.
Bikemore Statement on the departure of @BmoreCityDOT Director Johnson:
We are grateful for Director Johnson's service.
Baltimore City DOT continues to have leadership turnover because it has not been provided a clear vision and direction from the Mayor and City Council. (1/4)
American cities specifically designed like European ones will tell you a pedestrian/bike only corridor will destroy businesses. Remember they’re all full of shit.
If Thames St. in Baltimore was ped-only, it’d be better off. If Walnut in Philly went back to this, it’d be fine.
Charm City Lights is back!
Take a drive with the whole family for $12.51. Wanna walk or bike with that same family? That'll be $23.18.
@RecNParks continuing to fail Baltimore families with car-oriented programming.
"Oh, but this just shows the nerdy, detail-obsessed nature of Japanese people," you say. Perhaps. But these publications can't exist without a distribution system (newsstands), and those newsstands can't exist without dense *walkable neighborhoods.*
When I talk about the violence in newsrooms, this is what I mean. This says nothing about whether the restaurant is good or bad, casually demonizes people who may or may not have been doing what they claim, and is from a newsroom that is mostly white in a city that is not.
@BmoreCityDOT Understood, but I thought there was planning and support to downsize the street to one lane in each direction, and that doesn’t appear to be happening.
High visibility, Continental style crosswalk striping is required under the Baltimore City Complete Streets ordinance.
Can you guess which of the below crosswalk styles is currently being striped on Druid Park Lake Drive?
@banthaskull Yup, and how long have we been told that this road diet is coming just to get the whole road replaved in the same exact configuration it’s in.
State Center in Baltimore should have been redeveloped years ago.
Instead a redevelopment plan was blocked by then Gov Larry Hogan.
Emptied out with workers going to other office building.
And "gifted" to the City.
Like..here, you take it

I don't like to tweet much about politics, but if you respond to an overwhelming victory for people you profoundly disagree with by saying, "everyone is clearly stupid/evil", instead of triggering profound curiosity and reflection, you are part of the problem
Lo aprecio que nuestras agencias hablan en español para nuestros comunidades hispanos, ojalá que ellos pueden estar involucrados en la toma de decisiones.
