Ibn al-Qayyim said: I am not surprised by a healthy, free person standing ready to serve. Rather, what is truly astonishing is a weak, ailing person, beset by responsibilities and changing circumstances, yet whose heart remains steadfast in service, never neglecting what he is capable of.

I do not want you to complain anymore about a lack of money, a shortage of time, the burden of deprivation, or the severity of poverty. For if you knew the value of this treasure you possess, you would thank God for His gift to you, even if it appears as a withholding.

And you would be keen to conceal it from the eyes of people, fearing their envy, and you would know that God has not deprived you, but rather enriched you; He has not withheld from you, but rather comforted you. For the greatest generosity is to give what one has, and the greatest acts of obedience are those performed despite one's limited means.

O God, make us among the saved by Your grace, and forgive us, our parents, and all believers. And all believing women, both living and deceased.
