@b_Dub1977@MollyAmberBee@Sajam They were probably shooting for the moon. I bet they wanted something like the buzz Deadlock has (diff genre but still) in its pre-release state but the alphas and betas for 2XKO never caught fire like that. Crazy that this is the standard
@Emoralityy@MTashed@Gigz When did Destiny ever have unique set pieces and combat sequences prior to Witch Queen? Aside from like the last two missions in Red War, 99% of Destiny's campaign missions were... not good, to put it kindly. Witch Queen is the first actual good FPS campaign Destiny had.
@Speedkicks Yeah it really does end up working against the players they're trying to capture. A more static definition of how the game is supposed to work might give experienced players a bigger headstart but it also gives newer players something concrete to work towards
@RaikouRosario94 every time that happens, the lesson they somehow get from it is "ok NOW we've found the best team/strategy" instead of "hmm maybe it actually isn't as straightforward as we thought"
@RaikouRosario94 Yeah, there has to be some balance between playing what has already been established to be good because you want money with playing to explore what's possible. NA is too rigid, which is weird because there have been too many examples of ppl revealing there's more to the game but
@Gigz If anything, it's admirable that they aren't just making another looter shooter aimed for mass appeal. It almost makes me more interested in it because it seems like something the devs actually want to make instead of taking a cool idea and
@Dexter5817@PNDKetchup I think this also hurts the development of counterplay. Most people really only care about how they're going to implement their offense so if they don't even care about finding new ways to do that then forget about defense
@Dexter5817@PNDKetchup It's sad how little people who actively play the game care to explore it. We have enough examples of players discovering new teams or new ways to play existing teams and 98% of everyone else just waits for that to happen instead of getting the ball rolling themselves
@MK11Jokes@_Drazhar@Mikemetroid@PNDKetchup Deep down I knew for a while but Takeda is when I finally realized most people playing these games don't know what they're talking about. Or they do and they're just highly disingenuous about it because they know there's more reward in chronic downplay
@Triiiclops_013@PNDKetchup IMO there's no good reason to take players' opinions at face value. It's never as cut and dry as they make things out to be.
@Triiiclops_013@PNDKetchup Yep.
There's also just a lot of innate bias when it comes to this stuff. I don't think people fully believe in their downplay but it benefits them to contribute to that convo as much as possible anyways so they can reap the rewards of a possible future balance patch.
