go fuck yourself @sama
claiming that you solved navier stokes because 10000 agents ran in circles for 88hours on a multimillion dollar gpu cluster to formalize in lean a blowup case under controlled external forcing is pure scientific vulgarity the clay mathematics institute millennium prize does not ask m whether you can artificially force a singularity in a fluid by injecting an ad hoc smooth external forcing term f(x,t) to twist the vortex until it breaks the real problem questions the fundamental stability and global smooth existence for 3dimensional incompressible euler & navier stokes equations under natural conservation laws and viscous dissipation alone using a mathematical loophole on forced equations to parade a century old victory is a major conceptual scam Altman
technically & epistemologically what you present as an agi breakthrough is nothing more than bruteforce combinatorial autoformalization the ai did not understand fluid mechanics it simply navigated a continuous search space previously mapped out and constrained by the monumental work of human mathematicians like tristan buckmaster/ levent alpöge / diego córdoba or tarek elgindi coordinating 10000 agents to check the logical consistency of a 100 page proof via lean is a software engineering feat and computational parallelization triumph not an intrinsic scientific discovery it is the victory of the compute bulldozer over abstract human intuition repackaged for the public as a higher mathematical consciousness
to this theoretical imposture you add a disgusting ethical and industrial cynicism taking advantage of private codex sessions and informal preprints from academic researchers to siphon their research leads and then trying to redact or erase the contribution of levent alpöge under the pretext that he works at rival anthropic is intellectual serfdom openai behaves like a feudal lord of silicon appropriating the cognitive subsistence of independent scholars threatening their careers behind closed doors if they protest and turning community academic labor into a privatized pressrelease
this entire staged event serves a desperate financial agenda in a pre ipo panic facing the slowdown of scaling laws and growing investor skepticism over the profitability of foundational models openai needs to manufacture an artificial sputnik moment claiming to solve a millennium prize without immediately submitting the proof to traditional peer review means using the prestige of fundamental mathematics as cheap marketing fuel to inflate a delusional valuation!!!
real science is not a clout chase on social media or a compute spike spent to rob the clay mathematics institute it is a quest for elegance physical truth and universal rigor to decode reality true artificial intelligence will not emerge from hostile corporate takeover of academic work hidden behind computational bruteforce but from architectures capable of generating new conceptual paradigms by masquerading constrained formalization as the collapse of physics greatest mysteries you did not solve navier stokes you only proved how far silicon valley will go to prostitute scientific integrity for capitalist spectacle
@MarkJCarney That's a really cool fact. My turn: Canada just added a bunch of US banks to its list of debt brokers, as the existing channels weren't enough.
This presents a unique challenge for the country, as this would amplify the systemic risks the BoC warned of.

To the Americans:
I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States.
And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness:
You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence.
This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns.
Success is equated with exploitation.
Ambition is looked upon with contempt.
This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom.
But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated.
This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet.
And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America:
Thank God for the United States.
Thank God for the wisdom of its founders.
Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man.
Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners.
Long may your admirable country dominate the world.
Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states.
May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning.
Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill.
Thank God for the USA.
Happy 250th.

"Albert Einstein dies and goes to heaven and the first person he meets welcomes him and says he has an IQ of 140 and Einstein says 'oh this is great we can talk about all kinds of things - bridge, current events, and literature'.
Then the next person he meets introduces themselves and says he has an IQ of 180 and Einstein says 'oh wow this is fantastic - I can talk to you about physics and mathematics'.
Third guy introduces himself and mentions that he has and IQ of 90. Einstein says 'oh wonderful - you can tell me which way interest rates are headed'.
Vancouver single-family detached homes in OUNCES OF GOLD — ANNUAL since 1974!
Homes were relatively “cheap” in gold terms during the volatile 70s/80s, spiked dramatically in the 2000s-2010s housing boom (needing ~900-1000+ oz), but the massive gold rally in the 2020s has brought it back down sharply (~300-400 oz range recently).
Data: Approximate Greater Vancouver REBGV detached averages/benchmarks (sparser pre-2000) + historical annual avg gold spot (USD) + CAD/USD rates. For illustration — real prices vary by neighborhood/property.
Housing vs. gold cycles are wild!
Vancouver single-family detached homes in OUNCES OF GOLD —
1976: ~505 oz 1986: ~258 oz 1996: ~525 oz 2006: ~950 oz 2016: ~960 oz 2026: ~350 oz
Homes exploded in real-asset cost during the big housing boom (2000s–2010s), but the gold surge in the 2020s has made them dramatically more “affordable” again in gold terms.
What does this tell you about Vancouver housing?

Are you ready to buy? Are you ready to buy? Are you clear on what you can afford? Are you clear on what a lender says you can afford? Are you ready to make a move now? If not, what needs to change?
Again, skipping our annual family summer vacation to Kelowna for the third straight year in a row. The changes that the city and province made to their accommodations has changed it dramatically. Now you get a basement suite for $400 to $500/night.
If others like me doing this, has to be a huge economic consequence to the city, which I absolutely love by the way - so many great people live there.
Last year it was cheaper for me to spend two weeks on the Italian Amalfi Coast than go to BC. This year headed to the American south! Starting in Nashville and then road trip! Open to recommendations from there!!
Bob Knakal, arguably the greatest commercial broker of all time lost 74% of his listing pitches.
Roger Federer, arguably the greatest tennis player of all time lost 45% of his points.
If you're constantly failing, you're doing it right.
I said it months ago and will say it one last time. The biggest risk to this country isn't @realDonaldTrump it is @MarkJCarney and another decade of LPC policy.
1st time Ive hit copper berillium eye2s in 20 plus years. If they were legal today they’d still and always will be the best irons ever made. @PingTour #sopure
Someone asked us to track down a video of what appeared to be South Asian men shooting guns into the woods on-top of a Jeep Wrangler with a B.C. license plate.
Ask and ye shall receive.
Here's how we did it.
