💊 Many of us have rented housing, relocated, and are now left unpaid, uncertain, and suffering.
This internship was promised to be paid; we have completed 4–5 years of study plus numerous unpaid externships. Why are we now being told funds aren’t available to pay us? [5/6]
This raises serious concerns about transparency and priorities. We are asking for the problem to be addressed and resolved urgently.
💊Our mandatory 12-month internship is at risk.
💊 Our ability to sit our pharmacy licensing exam & become registered pharmacists is at risk. [4/6]
Why are we still sitting at home while our colleagues in other regions are being actively trained?
We have already exhausted all formal routes- writing letters, waiting on answers, and still nothing. We are tired, frustrated, and left in limbo. [3/6]
The reason? We were told that there are “no funds” to pay interns in the Western Region. Why was this not communicated prior to us commencing internship? Why are we, and our families, the ones suffering? Why wasn’t our (mandatory) internship budgeted for? [2/6]
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
We, the Pharmacy Interns assigned to the Western Regional Health Authority (WRHA), are in CRISIS!
On our very first day of pharmacy internship (Sept 1, 2025), after working the full day at our respective hospitals, we were told not to return “until further notice.” [1/6]
