‘Occupational therapy is a profession that really puts people at the centre of our work.’
This World Occupational Therapy Day, we're thanking all occupational therapists, like Rachel, who work across England.
Your hard work plays a vital role in improving patients’ lives 💙
Our 3 Lens Model Webinar is now live on YouTube. Sad to see this coming to an end, but there is so much learning to share about how assertive outreach and creative approaches to mental health can support people experiencing 'multiple disadvantage' https://t.co/yDnsVWGG7e
If you are interested in learning more about how this has worked, our learning will be shared via Changing Futures Plymouth channels in webinar (tomorrow at 2pm!) and in evaluation report in the coming months.
For the past 6 months @livewellsw have supported a joint venture with @CFPlym @plymouthsouprun to pilot sending me (Mental Health trained Occupational Therapist) out on the Soup Run. It has been a privilege and we have learnt so much together about how to improve pathways 🙏🏻
On Wed. evening, @plymouthsouprun said goodbye and a huge thank you to Rachel @_outreachOT#changingfutures. Rachel has been coming out on the Soup Run with us each week supporting both the people we serve & the team. Her input has been invaluable, collaborative work at its best.
@HilaryK36866276@plymouthsouprun Thank you so much for having me and being so welcoming. I feel truly privileged to have been a regular part of the Soup Run, if only for a little while. The work that you all do is remarkable.
This Friday at 2pm we are hosting an online webinar to share the pilot that I have been working on with Changing Futures, based across homelessness and probation services. If you're interested in learning more you can sign up via the link https://t.co/X9BZz7eDGl
On Wed. the Mutley Baptist Church team went out following heavy rain. Not surprisingly, the number of people served was lower than usual, 46. They also gave out warm clothing, toiletries, 2 sleeping bags & a blanket. Thanks to the team, @Tesco for the surplus food & @_outreachOT
Delighted to be moving into a new area of practice in April - Early Intervention for Psychosis. I am currently part of some substance use and Occupational Therapy online networking groups that I find SO helpful. Is there anything similar for EIP/EIP and OT out there?

So sad to be saying goodbye to our wonderful role emerging Occupational Therapy Students @HamoazeHouse this week! It's been a breath of fresh air and so lovely having some other OTs about in this area of practice. So grateful for my beautiful last week gifts (ft Betty the cat 😺)

Spending the day at the Improving the Management of Co-occuring Mental Health & Substance Use conference. Absolutely blown away by the first presentation from @WorkingWEvery1 focused on co-production & the many different ways that people do recover. So powerful 👏🏻 #dualdiagnosis
1 in 4 women screens positive for a 'personality disorder' in young adulthood, yet this rate halves in later years. Attributing these profound difficulties to 'personality'—a supposedly lifelong trait—not only contradicts the data but reflects a misogynistic framing. #TraumaNotPD
