The creators of LOK choosing to have Korra physically assaulted & violated each season by male benders on screen in ways they never did with any other character yet at the same time a large male portion of the fanbase refused to see her as a victim is the problem
Chasca: Skyborne Arbiter
Peacemaker of the Tlalocan
#GenshinImpact#Chasca
"...There's no hope for the child... You know I can't accept that either! But, please... just give up."
This was the first "conflict" that Chasca experienced in her life.
"...Just what's wrong with this kid? Was she raised by a Qucusaurus or something? No wonder she's so wild..."
This was one of the countless "conflicts" that Chasca faced after returning to the Flower-Feather Clan.
Though her childhood memories were already blurry, Chasca still remembered the emotions stirring beneath those words: disappointment, pain, bitterness, and frustration... People were caught in a web of emotions, forever entangled in "conflict."
But "conflicts" can eventually be resolved. All it takes is a turning point.
"...Kraa?" A Qucusaurus, soaring high up in the sky, just so happened to catch sight of the helpless "child" crying piteously for food down below.
"At least give me a heads-up next time!" A young girl, after practically having searched the length and breadth of the mountains, puffed with anger after finding her runaway "sister."
...Perhaps many "conflicts" weren't as deeply rooted, or as difficult to "transcend," as people imagined?
Gear packed and bullets loaded, Chasca โ who was now a fully-fledged Peacemaker โ stepped through the door to embrace the morning breeze.
"This time... it's my turn to resolve some conflicts." Lowering the brim of her hat, she smiled to herself.
The lad goes on to say prostitutes break marriages and encourage promiscuity and I contributed to the conversation
- unless the prostitute is a married woman approaching men and convincing them to cheat on their partners what you're saying is not valid. A prostitute just like every professional uses their knowledge and body to get paid
Would you call a religious counsellor wrong for teaching and getting paid and an unpaid pastor right? No
Would you call a medicine test subject wrong for using their bodies for science and getting paid? You feel prostitution is wrong and it is rooted in religious bias
The boy said it was illegal and that's enough to show it was wrong
My lecturer reminded him that at some point it was illegal for women to do certain things does that mean the government was right?
Society progresses and the powerful ones decide what is right and wrong
Sometimes the power lies with the people
Most times the people are too scared to fight for rights because of fear so the leaders dictate to them
We then placed prostitution on three scales to get a conclusion
For something to be purely ethical, it should have three qualities - autonomy, non-maleficence and benevolent
- autonomy is a prostitute willingly participating in this work (human trafficking was raised at this point and we concluded it was different and wrong)
- non-maleficence is when the prostitute is harming no one, if her customer is a married man the man is hurting his wife, not her and prostitutes are required to take sexual health and protection seriously to ensure no spread of diseases
- benevolent, what they're doing is good and they bring pleasure to their customers
When you ask people how is sex work bad
They simply speak with their bias or the disturbing Bible
It is very tiring
