@NHRacingGuide @JPunts97 Yeah, wouldn’t want to take too much out of him before what really is his big race of the season. Though I don’t think they’d mind if the 2 runs left a mark - if he wins the Guineas he’ll doubtlessly be “the best we’ve ever had”, he’ll be as good as retired to stud on the spot.

@JPunts97 Might also be to do with the route they have planned for him after. Derby would have been the ultimate goal for CoT and Auguste Rodin but that’s not his aim - maybe less worried about having him fully rev’d early in the season for the Guineas than with them.

@JPunts97 6 years without a winner (practically a drought) is enough for him to change his habits I think. Can say with hindsight that CoT, AR, LBB weren’t milers and that he hasn’t had the horses to win the race, but the old route isn’t bringing out the best in them.
