The Hidden Injustice in Our Reservation System, RULE 17 Explained Simply.

Today, I want to talk about a draconian rule that most people aren’t even aware of RULE 17 (Applicable to MD/MS, MDS, MTECH and other professional PG courses)
This one rule quietly takes away seats from general (open merit) students and hands them back to the reserved category. Let me explain it in the simplest way.

When a reserved category student scores well enough to get selected in Open Merit (i.e., without using reservation), they are still allowed to upgrade to a better college/discipline through their reservation quota. Sounds fine, right? But here’s the catch,
Once that reserved category student leaves the Open Merit seat, it doesn’t go to the next general category student. Instead, that seat is given to another reserved category student.
The Open Merit seat goes back into the reserved pool.
This means two things. (I) Reserved candidate gets both merit + reservation benefit. (II) General category students lose one more seat. Seats are getting recycled within the reserved category, reducing real opportunity for general students.
So, even if you are competing in an open competition, you are not really getting a fair chance. Why? Because the seat left behind by a reserved candidate is not passed to the next deserving general student. It is passed sideways, back into the quota system.

The outcome?
Double benefit for reserved candidates.
Reduced seats for general (open merit) students.
Merit is compromised, and fairness is diluted. This is Rule 17.
P.S. END THIS RULE AND STOP PLAYING WITH OUR HARDWORKING DOCTORS’ FUTURE.
