How complicated is health care billing in the U.S., and how much is it costing patients? Find out in last month's @JAMA_current report https://t.co/Ab5mAca4e1 with editorial by @vivianleemd https://t.co/Xpx8Pqushz. Study done at @DukeU with support from @HarvardHBS.
My brother’s girlfriend’s cousin and his family were caught in their vehicle in Maui while the wildfires suddenly erupted around them.
No cell service, so Apple Emergency SOS was the only way they could get in contact with first responders. Literally saved their lives.
Lol. I Googled myself and found that I now have my own @USNewsHealth page, completely unbeknownst to me. Does this mean I made it? But also maybe a little scary.

With infections surging due to the Omicron variant, physicians are now urging people to ditch cloth face masks and instead recommend pairing cloth masks with surgical models or moving on to stronger respirator masks https://t.co/Fy02Rbyz1z
I have a theory.
Our poor #publichealth officials will never get the respect and understanding they deserve.
Society asks them to predict the future, yet doesn't account for how any released statements can/will change societal behavior itself.
If #publichealth says "don't worry about it," humans will be more careless, and naturally case numbers will be worse than expected.
If "it's going to be catastrophic," a large swath of people will take greater precautions, and naturally case numbers can be better than expected.
