I was never like a super cuddly, lovey dovey, squeaky kind of girl when it came to boys...and then I met Kyle...sometimes I don’t even recognize myself with all of the mushy things I say 😂
Also this movie focused both on heterosexuality as well as homosexuality and not constantly being forced to identify with one over the other. #TeenFilmSDSU
look up to someone who abused you? But, especially being at such a young age, he suppressed it, pushed it far back so he wouldn’t remember it and would instead only remember the good things about her. I think that truly does happen to so many people. #teenfilmSDSU
I’m not an expert in this area and therefore I’m sorry if I’m wrong, but I think this film did a very realistic job in portraying how some people suppress awful events, in this case sexual abuse from his aunt. In the beginning/middle of the movie he says something like “she’s the
best person I’ve ever know...until now” and that best person was his aunt. So this entire time we see the aunt playing this wonderful part in his life, almost taking on that parental role while he was young. Then we come to find out what she did to him. And we think how could you
I also find it interesting how even if you do “pass it on” you still see “it”. It hasn’t completely gone away yet, possibly representing this idea that you can pass it off to relieve yourself, but it’ll still be there haunting you until you fully deal with it #teenfilmSDSU
It’s interesting this play on different types of people in the world. On the one hand you have those who are selfish and will “pass it on” or save themselves even if it means putting someone else’s life in danger. On the other hand you have those willing to sacrifice themselves
