A roman King decided to add January & February to the calendar to organize winter pushing everything number named off by 2. Septem(7) became 9, Octo(8) became 10, Novem(9) became 11 & Decem(10) became 12. Fun fact: the OG roman calendar only had 10 months and started in March.
