Before 2015 SLC players had a very low record of injuries overall, even when playing franchise cricket around the world. Also SLC had strict set of regulations on fitness levels and conducted many fitness tests for players before every series/tournmenents. This culture solely deteriorated over time when he started failing these tests due to his unhealthy eating habits (drinking).

Hence, started rebelling with SLC when this was pointed out and he refused to improve his fitness. Over the period youngsters started getting influenced by him they also eventually started to disregard the fitness levels. Since then you can see many SLC players with a belly peeking out. Eventually leading to players getting injured easily these days.
