Thrilled to announce that I’ve accepted a Stadtman tenure-track position in NIAID Laboratory of Bacteriology in Bethesda, MD and named a NIH Distinguished Scholar!!! #ResearchingSpirochetes@NIAIDNews
Congrats to Soo-Kyoung Kim, Vince Lee, @runtumblerun, and Holger Sondermann! I did a tn suppressor screen ... then graduated & left it in the freezer. It's been great hearing the progress of this elegant diribonucleotide degradation story over the years! https://t.co/9uhxA06Xpe
New preprint from our lab @NCIResearchCtr ! We found that Staph aureus evolves tolerance to pyocyanin produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa via CodY mutations. This project was started by @microbiosara as the lab's first postbac, and then led by @TMartini_#Saureus#Paeruginosa 1/2
The students from my lab course made me these adorable animals ❤️❤️❤️. I’m going to miss them - they meshed into such a tight-knit group by the end of the semester and always had loads of enthusiasm for class and really great questions!
Delighted that @NCIResearchCtr chose our "SSHEL" technology as a 2023-2024 Milestone! Spores of the humble #Bacillus subtilis have come a long way (and still have much to offer!). Stay tuned for new reports of SSHELs being used to deliver peptide vaccines, RNA, and more...
My PhD advisor used to ask “Are you doing the right thing?” He didn’t know exactly what you were doing, he just wanted you to check in with yourself. These days when the Vince voice that lives in my head asks if I’m doing the right thing, all the inner Mona voice does is scream.
