imagine rebellious chaebol jk having really bad insomnia that he constantly gets headaches. he just couldn’t sleep. sleeping pills were as useless as candy to him.

jk walks out of his office with hands shoved in his pockets. managerial and rank-and-file employees alike move aside, greeting him and bowing as he walked passed them and into the elevator. jk pays no mind to them, doesn’t even greet back.

as the elevator doors draw to a close, an intern swoops right between the space. the chaebol raises his eyebrow. he hated people invading his personal space, that includes strangers sharing the lift with him.

he glances at the ID and saw a big bold “intern” printed across.

“ya, intern, get out—”

the elevator lights shut off and the machine grumbles to a halt. the emergency light dimly illuminated the space.

‘just fucking great.’ jm thinks, it was his first day at work. he was claustrophobic. he hugs the files closer to his chest as he tensed in fear.

“ah, shit.” he hears the man curse beside him.

“hey intern, got any reception?” jmi doesn’t even look back, but trying his best to keep calm, he takes his phone and taps it awake. he only shakes his head.

jk sighs, pressing the emergency call button several times, but to no avail.

jm hears the guy sigh, the elevator shifts in suspension as jk slumps down and sits on the floor. “relax. they’re going to fix it soon.” He says as he stretched his legs and crossed his ankles.

“sit down, will you? being stuck in an elevator is already irritating enough. you’re just going to piss me off if you keep standing there.” he sternly says.

so, jmi listens. he holds the bar with his left hand and walks backward in careful steps. when his back hits the wall, he slumps down slowly.

jk scoffs, “took you forever.” he comments.

it annoyed jm, and to be honest, if he was in a different situation he would’ve retaliated at the guy. he hates a snarky attitude.

but today wasn’t that day.

jm closes his eyes as he tried to even his breathing.

the silence was deafening and it was making him conscious.

jm helps when he feels jk’s suddenly leans on his shoulder, he almost holds his breath.

he tries to shake him off. “excuse me.”

no response.

“wake up. hello?” he moves his shoulder. he looks down and squints his eyes. jm gulps. the man was attractive; if only his personality was pleasant.

soft snores left jk’s slightly parted lips.

jm shakes his head when he realized he was staring at the stranger’s lip ring. “you must be out of your mind. he’s a prick.” he whispers to himself.

the elevator doesn’t open until thirty minutes later.

when jm’s eyes flutter open and he sees the elevator doors wide open, he immediately scrambles out. ‘THANK GOD!’ he thinks.

jm’s movement wakes jk. ‘i fell asleep?’ he thinks groggily as he watched the intern pay him no attention and zoom out the lift.

“s-sir!! apologies for the inconvenience!!” his personal assistant apologizes like his life depended on it (it did).

jk stretched his neck, standing up and dusting his suit off.

he shoves his hands in his pockets as he exited the elevator, “get me that intern.” he instructs while he passes by his secretary.

his secretary, confused, follows behind him as they walked. “sir?”

“I said get me that intern. I need him as close to me as possible.” he demands.

if the intern brings him slumber, then the intern is all he needs.
