A reminder from Atomic Habits:
New goals don't deliver new results. New lifestyles do. And a lifestyle is a process, not an outcome. For this reason, all of your energy should go into building better habits, not chasing better results.
people won’t take you serious until they perceive you as valuable.
this is why you shouldn’t fight to enter circles you’ve not grown into.
focus on building yourself and the circle will come to you.
I submitted my resignation letter 3 months in advance before my 2yr job contract was complete, with a wife and no job lined up because I needed more time in the day to focus on transition careers to Tech (Cloud Engineer)
HR thought I was insane, and asked to take some time to think about my decision. They even offered to hire me on a month to month contract until I found a new role..
I declined..
They didn’t know that very same job was what was draining me from covering ground to and make the transition.
My wife and I strategically and painfully slashed our expenses in half as we were now a single income household.
4 months after, I landed my first Cloud Engineer role, from a globally remote company with a salary that almost tripled my previous.
Most people thought I was crazy..
I say.. when you don’t have a choice but faith to believe you’ll succeed..
You tend to find away to do just that.
I woke up to being a YouTube partner! Close to 7k subs too. I tried YT when I first got into tech but anxiety and depression got in the way, now I’m in such a better headspace & it shows!
Just did a fresh macOS install — writing down what I set up:
• Superhuman: fast email client
• Ghostty: super fast terminal
• Neovim: default editor
• Raycast: better spotlight
• CleanShot X: better screenshot tool
• Notion: work notes + calendar
• Chrome: default browser
• 1Password: best password manager
• Spotify: my music hub
• Screenflow: lightweight video capture + editor
• Screen Studio: another nice video tool
The usual web dev stuff: homebrew, node, pnpm, bun. Here's my current neovim plugins: https://t.co/KOwJTLgxsF
I use zsh (default on macOS) with some customizations in my .zshrc, but pretty minimal to keep startup fast.
There's a few macOS defaults I change:
• Remap caps lock to escape
• mkdir ~/Developer (it has a fancy icon in finder!)
• Faster keyboard repeats
• defaults write -g InitialKeyRepeat -int 15
• defaults write -g KeyRepeat -int 1
• Show hidden files in finder
• defaults write https://t.co/Z8pNgbtFS8.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
That's it! Anything I'm missing? 👀

When we think about fear, there are two types, legitimate fear for which there is some valid basis and fear that is rooted in our mental projections. There’s a Tibetan saying that if you let your mind run wild, you’ll see a robber in an empty house.

I have created this Tic Tac Toe game in JavaScript with the minimax algorithm of game theory.

Whoa. I just discovered you can assign actions to double/triple taps on the back of your iPhone via accessibility settings. I just set double-tap to open the camera, similar to the double-tap on the power button on Android. What a game changer.
