The Nino 3.4 sea-surface temperature (SST) just set a new record daily high for the 16th day in a row.
The current Nino 3.4 SST is higher than any day of any year on record, with the exception of a few days late in 2015 at the start of the last super El Nino.
Stay tuned!

A physical book is a real object, anchored. If you read a particular edition, you remember not only the contents but the object itself: its cover, typography, smell, even where a passage sat on the page.
Books organize themselves in memory by place --the ancient method of loci.
Digital text does not exist.
#AI can be a valuable tool and, at the same time, it calls for a measured and vigilant approach. The speed and simplicity with which practical assistance can be accessed undoubtedly makes life easier. Yet they can also encourage excessive reliance and the search for ready-made answers, and weaken personal creativity and judgment. #MagnificaHumanitas
A huge heat dome is sitting over France, with temperatures that might hit 40°C. It’s still spring. It’s still May. What was once considered “extreme” is increasingly becoming normal across Europe. Heatwaves are earlier, longer, & pushing ecosystems and health beyond limits.
In this essay, I argue that moral anti-realism cannot adequately account for the character of moral reasoning, disagreement, and deliberation. We do not merely speak morally: we reason morally. And anti-realism belongs in the dustbin of philosophical history. 🔗⬇️
The world itself is made up, at least in part, of non-piecemeal resonant structures. In some respects, yes, it's built like a machine…. But the world is also built like a web of analogies. It is as much a piece of music as it is a pile of lumber.

Most people can’t apply non-linear thinking. But you can’t face today’s complexity without thinking in systems.
What’s coming is the Fourth Systemic-Risk driven global crisis. Greater in impact than GFC, Covid and Russia’s war. Every day of the war in Iran adds months of crisis.
This is how modern football looks like:
-2 or 3 wide players - make space for a winger for inswinger cross - wide combinations mostly to be able to cross or shoot
-overload far-post
-forcing def - 6s or Ws to drop deep to participate in box def
Not creative but effective.
