The Khalsa Raj was never achieved so easily. The Khalsa established this empire by defeating warlike kaum the Durani Pathans. Abdali was also a Durrani Pathan, who defeated the Marathas, a rising power from India, in the Battle of Panipat so badly that they could not rise again. The Sikhs knew that if they wanted to rule this region, they would have to defeat the Pathans and close the Khyber Pass. This was not as easy as it seemed because this region was about 75-80% Muslim and about 15% Hindu, Sikhs were barely 5-7%. It showed the bravery of the Sikhs to rule this region with a small population. The Sikh state was not imposed on anyone, everyone was free to follow their own religion, there was no hatred in the name of religion.

Twenty years ago, brass utensils were common in our homes. But then, habit of showing off & status symbols we started using steel, glass and crockery instead of brass utensils. Which was also harmful to health, in this way the corporates imposed their products on us.
"...The general and most distinctive characteristic of the masterpieces of Greek art is a noble simplicity and a quiet greatness both in posture and in expression. As the depths of the sea always remain calm however much the surface may be raging so does the expression of the figures of the Greeks reveal in the midst of all passions a great and dignified soul..."
Johann Joachim Winckelmann - Reflections on the Imitation of Greek Works in Painting and Sculpture

Even if I had endless paper, ink that never runs out, and a pen that moves like the wind -
I still could never measure Your greatness, O Lord.
Your Name is beyond all description.
Trin | ਤ੍ਰਿਣ
Trin means a blade of grass - small, light, almost insignificant. Yet in Gurbani, this humble word carries a universe of meaning.
Trin reminds us of fragility - how life can bend with the slightest breeze. It teaches humility - how greatness often hides in what the world calls small.
It reveals truth - that even the tiniest creation is held by the same Divine hand that spins galaxies.
In storms, the mighty trees may fall, but the soft trin survives by bowing.
That is its wisdom: strength is not always in resisting - sometimes it is in yielding.
To walk the path of the Guru, we are asked to become as light as trin: free of ego, free of arrogance, ready to bend in grace, ready to rise again with His command.
For in becoming small, the soul discovers something vast - the protection, love, and limitless mercy of the One who carries even a single blade of grass in His eternal care.
As those who do not train the body cannot perform the functions proper to the body, so those who do not train the soul cannot perform the functions of the soul.
– Xenophon (Memorabilia)
Mool | ਮੂਲ | مول
Mool means the source, the root, the origin of all that is.
It is the divine essence from which every soul, every star, every sound arises - the eternal truth that flows quietly beneath the illusion of “I”.
In Gurbani, the seeker’s journey is to return to this Mool,
to remember what was never truly forgotten.
For the moment we are born, we begin drifting away - lost in names, roles, desires - forgetting the still ocean we came from.
To find your Mool is not to go somewhere new -
it is to come home.
It is awakening to the realization that the light you seek outside has always been burning within.
When one merges back into Mool, the search ends, the self dissolves, and only Oneness remains - timeless, vast, unbroken.

Guru Nanak is the greatest of all; He saved my honor in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga
may everyone have a blessed day on the Gurpurab of Guru Nanak Sahib, God on earth
ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰੋ | ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ | ਵੰਡ ਛਕੋ
Over five centuries ago, a divine light descended upon this earth - to awaken humanity.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born in 1469 in Rai Bhoe di Talwandi, now Nankana Sahib.
From the very beginning, He questioned every veil that covered truth. When the world was drowning in ritual, division, and ego - He became the storm of awareness.
He refused blind customs, stood against caste, and tore apart the illusion of superiority.
At the river Bein, He disappeared for three days - and when He emerged, His first words shook the. foundations of dogma:
“Na koi Hindu, na koi Musalman.”
There is no Hindu, there is no Muslim - only One Divine Light pervading all.
He walked the earth for decades - across deserts, mountains, and oceans - carrying no army, no wealth, no weapon.
Only Naam, Shabad, and unshakable love.
From Mecca to Mount Sumer, from Lanka to Tibet - He met kings and fakirs, scholars and sinners - and left all transformed.
His message was simple yet infinite:
Work honestly (Kirat Karo), share what you have (Vand Chhako), and keep the Divine in your heart (Naam Japo).
On this sacred day, may we not just light lamps - but ignite our conscience. May we not just praise His name - but walk His path.
To see One in all, to serve without pride, and to live fearlessly in Truth.
The world doesn’t need more believers. It needs more awakened souls.
And that awakening - is Nanak.
Wish you all a very Happy Gurupurab 🙏

Punjab is on top in terms of Infrastructure across India. I have always felt that the villages in Punjab are way better than any place. Many villages near my home have lock-dial tiles installed on the streets, which is rare of the rarest sight compared to other states.
