Tyrese says his prenup was so strict his own lawyer could not believe his wife signed it. That same prenup is why a judge ordered him to pay her lawyers $399,152.

Paragraph XIX of the agreement reads: "[Husband] will pay the necessary and reasonable legal fees, costs and expenses incurred by [wife] if the divorce is uncontested." The Georgia Court of Appeals quoted it in its ruling on November 25, 2024, and affirmed every award he appealed.

The court record:
Married on February 14, 2017. Samantha filed for divorce on September 21, 2020.
$275,000: Tyrese's gross monthly income, per the trial court. Samantha's was $7,880.
$2,169.34: what the Georgia guidelines would have set as monthly child support.
$10,690: what the judge ordered instead, every month, for their daughter Soraya.
$163,093: back support for the months before trial.
$399,152: her attorney fees, charged to him under his own prenup.
September 9, 2024: an order found him in "willful contempt for failure to make child support payments" and set the amount to purge it at $73,525.73.

Tyrese argued at trial that the total should be capped at $3,500 a month. The court noted that $10,690 is the exact amount he already pays for his older daughter in California.

When Samantha told him in August 2025 she was moving Soraya to Oregon, he wrote back: "No, Samantha. No way. No how. I do not agree." On September 30, 2026, a Fulton County magistrate authorized a warrant for her arrest in the custody fight.

The case for Tyrese: he paid $2,236 a month on his own before any order, the prenup was meant to settle the money, and he says she told him she wanted none of it.

The case for Samantha: the prenup never covered child support, the appeals court called the award 4% of his adjusted monthly income and says $10,690 is the amount she asked for, and he was held in contempt for paying less than ordered.
