Introducing Oasis: the first playable AI-generated game.
We partnered with @DecartAI to build a real-time, interactive world model that runs >10x faster on Sohu. We're open-sourcing the model architecture, weights, and research.
Here's how it works (and a demo you can play!):
@FitFounder 💯 agree. The changes that work best for me was to delay the time I have my first coffee to after 9am and not drink any after 12.
Have more energy during the afternoon from the delayed start, and sleep isn’t impacted from drinking coffee in the afternoon.
@ericsyuan Have you tried upgrading through the labarythn of a user management portal, and then when you are exasperated, tried to contact your own support team through the chatbot? You really should as its the worst part of the zoom experience.
“if you want to build a ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.”
-- Antoine de St. Exupery
"This is the best time ever to make something. None of the greatest, coolest creations 20 years from now have been invented yet. You are not late."
-- Kevin Kelly
“Do you wish to be great? Then begin by being. Do you desire to construct a vast and lofty fabric? Think first about the foundations of humility. The higher your structure is to be, the deeper must be its foundation.”
- Saint Augustine
I run a media company, and I love writing. So it’s bittersweet to write this, but here it is:
AI is going to fundamentally change media in all sorts of ways over the next five years...
Systems engineer and environmental scientist Donella Meadows on nonmaterial needs:
"People don't need enormous cars; they need admiration and respect. They don't need a constant stream of new clothes; they need to feel that others consider them to be attractive, and they need excitement and variety and beauty. People don't need electronic entertainment; they need something interesting to occupy their minds and emotions. And so forth.
Trying to fill real but nonmaterial needs—for identity, community, self-esteem, challenge, love, joy—with material things is to set up an unquenchable appetite for false solutions to never-satisfied longings. A society that allows itself to admit and articulate its nonmaterial human needs, and to find nonmaterial ways to satisfy them, world require much lower material and energy throughputs and would provide much higher levels of human fulfillment."
