Poor and Middle-class use Footpaths the most. They are the pedestrians who are getting killed on major roads due to lack of proper pedestrian infrastructure.
CM @DKShivakumar and Minister @krishnabgowda have taken the first big step towards fixing the city for pedestrians. Lot many other steps are on the way including for public transport.
Agree that vendors have their rights and LOP Rahul Gandhi had got even a law passed in Parliament protecting their rights.
But one has to understand that only 1500 kms have been earmarked out of the total 15,000 kms+ roads in Bangalore as street vendor free, pedestrian only zones.
These are the Major Arterial and Sub-Arterial roads i.e. Main Roads.
Street Vendors can move to the remaining 80-90% interior roads where ecosystem will automatically develop. Hope GBA starts allocating locations in each ward for vending.
LOP Rahul Gandhi has always stood for the rule of law. That is the basis of his constitution campaign. Poor and middle class die on roads, we must give them good spaces to walk.
It’s ridiculous to link this to Yogi and Bull dozers where private properties are being demolished. The JCB in Bengaluru is removing permanently built structures on public pedestrian spaces. It is not destroying private property.
And what does all this have to do with gig-workers?
Activists in Bengaluru and Citizens of the city must actively support reforms and actions to make the city more livable instead of making illogical arguments. Political will for positive change must be supported. @CMofKarnataka
The program faced immense pushback and caution, specifically because Manmohan Singh's administration demanded strict scientific proof and pilot studies to ensure the blended fuel would not damage existing vehicle engines, fuel systems, and rubber https://t.co/Ru24gsxR7D address this scientifically, the UPA government explicitly launched automobile compatibility pilot projects at locations like the Aonla and Desur fuel depots in December 2008.Because of these technical delays and logistical hurdles, India’s actual ethanol blending rate stood at a meager 2.3% by 2014. That is the ground reality . Jaihind
