Grateful and thrilled to receive my dual degree of BS-MS in Biological Sciences at the 10th convocation of IISER Bhopal. Exhilarating moments, lifelong friendships, and countless memories. Carrying these cherished experiences, I bid farewell to IISERB. 🎓✨
The priorities @iiserbhopal has is truly sad. The most important day for all students is being taken away. Cannot believe this institute is making me hate it even more before leaving .
It is an honor to receive a masters in an institute where parents cannot see their children graduate in-person and must instead resort to a live stream. How embarrassing.
Our proposed solutions are as usual ignored. A convocation fitting for a national institute, @iiserbhopal 👏
This is after a substantial fee hike, large grounds, stadiums and stages that have never been used, except on the grand "Institute Day" celebration, that is an ostentatious display of the money the institute chooses NOT to spend on the welfare of its students.

Day 2 of Annual Biology Meet 2023.
Presented a talk on our study where we sequenced the genome of "Wild Jack" and performed comparative genomics on the species of Artocarpus.
Scary and enlightening experience.
Presented my Master's thesis work on; the Demographic history and Ecological Niche Modelling of Artocarpus Species in the 9th Annual Biology Meet (ABM) 2023.
Am I a nerd if presenting a poster in a conference was on my bucket list?
Super proud of this work! 😁
Our Wild Jack genome paper is out now in @FrontPlantSci@FrontiersIn. I particularly enjoyed working on this paper due to creativity involved and the way we have written it. We Included ENM, credit goes to MS student @_sai_samhitha_ for that and those brilliant illustrations 👏

We also performed lineage-specific positive selection and gene family evolution across the three Artocarpus species, which unveils evolutionary adaptations to divergent distributions and dispersal mechanisms.
You can read about these results in the full text.

After splitting from the other two species, the LTR Copia repeats in jackfruit have recently accumulated, inflating the amount of its genome and possibly playing a role in its evolution.
