When my friend got married, she couldn’t understand why her husband apologized for everything.
If dinner burned, he apologized.
If he got sick, he apologized.
If he asked for help, he apologized for “being a burden.”
At first, she thought he lacked confidence.
Then she spent a weekend with his family.
When you aren't making money yet, do these:
1) Avoid people that have loose mouth. They will say things that will make you angry. And you might overreact because you aren't even happy inside of you (your financial state)
.
2) When the financial aspect is down, the emotional aspect makes up for it.
It goes 2 ways
A) You either seek closure and love in the people around you
B) You isolate and get irritated easily with the people around you
.
.
So when you are financially down, always affirm to yourself that you won't transfer that aggression to innocent people around you. Especially if you have kids or young relatives living with you.
People close to you are the only ones that might not really put too much pressure on you to prove anything to them.
They will eat their rice without meat if there's none, and won't complain.
They will trek to school, if there's no money to enter transport. And they won't complain.
They will see you sitting at home, if you have lost your job, and will go with whatever explanation you give, without making you uneasy and uncomfortable.
.
.
So these people worth it and you should rest in their arms in love and calm.
Do not transfer aggression to them. Please.
And do not get irritated by them. It isn't fair that they understand you the most and you'd still classify them as irritating.
.
.
3) Visit your childhood experiences
Times when I was very broke, I always tried to go back to moments and activities of my childhood, to just make meaning out of my current situation.
I would do things that I did back then. Regardless of how old I am at the present.
During childhood, we lived a life that wasn't tied down to money alone.
We expressed ourselves when music played. We acted and mimicked lots of Nollywood characters, etc
We were happy. And it wasn't because we had 20k in our bank accounts.
So going back to these childhood moments and activities can bring so much relieve, meaning and calm into our current financial turbulences.
It will make you realise that life is more than money.
And if you can have fun while the money isn't literally available at the moment, then you can get over any situation that life throws at you, while still maintaining fun, positivity and vibrancy.
.
.
Money will come. Sebi you are providing value? Then just keep at it.
Do not give up now. It reduces the probability of that big win.
But with each small step you take each day.... Then the hope that a step will land on goldmine, gets higher and higher.
Until it finally does.
Then it will all worth it.

I held a 92 year old, she was senile but in her moments of lucidity she would say her youngest son would rape her.
I took her to hospital & I had to hold her legs apart for the doctor to do a rape kit. I'll never forget her bitter tears watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren see her nakedness.
He later murdered her. 1/

Investing Sh 40,000 monthly in a money market fund will accumulate to Sh 528,000 in a year (at 12% annually).
In two years you can withdraw Sh 1 Million and invest in a treasury bond earning at least Sh 160,000 annually. You will receive Sh 80,000 every 6 months.
Repeating this process will result in Sh 160,000 reinvested in the MMF, or accumulated to Sh 200,000 for another bond investment.
During my final exams, I called my dad crying that I can’t study anymore. He told me to close that book & go to the mall.
At the mall, I picked a dress. He said how much. I told him. He said he doesn’t have money and if I don’t pass I won’t have money too.
I went back to read.
