When two officers from Brigade of the Guards meet up in the morning 🌞
Kamaljit Singh Walia was commissioned in 5 Guards in 1963, he was Commando Instructor in Army and later sidestepped to BSF to raise their school in Tekanpur after the 1965 war. Retired as IG in 2002.
Very regular with his morning walks and is undoubtedly the smartest person around at the age of 83!

My take is that the armed forces should stay away from 'publicity' and 'glory hunting'.
These are professional organisations and must resist urge to compete with anyone.
Such parades, pomp & show, paegentry, displays must be cut down to bare minimum.
No one really calculates the cost of such huge events involving front line aircrafts and human capital.
The same is true for the other two services.
Last few years too much focus is on optics, time to scale down.
